COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose released the following statement today after the Ohio Senate unanimously passed SB 194. This legislation is sponsored by State Senator Michael Rulli (R- Salem).
Secretary LaRose supports this legislation that for the first time will place voter registration database systems under the purview of a re-named Board of Voting System Examiners (BVSE).
Statement Attributable to Secretary LaRose:
"Make no mistake, our enemies are targeting voter registration systems across the nation," said LaRose. "By bringing accountability and standards to the vendors that support our boards of elections, we’ll be significantly enhancing Ohio’s elections security posture. I want to especially thank Senator Rulli and President Obhof, and I encourage the House to swiftly take up this vitally important issue."
