Ohio Secretary of State Week in Review for the Week Ending December 4, 2020

Ensuring an Accurate Election

All 88 county boards of elections conducted their post-election audits this week to ensure the accuracy of the election. Secretary LaRose stopped by the Montgomery, Allen and Lucas County Boards of Elections this week to review the great work they are doing to help give their voters the confidence they deserve.

Putting the 2020 Election in Historical Context

Ohio shattered previous voter participation numbers this year. Secretary LaRose joined the Ohio History Connection this week for a panel discussion to share what it took for Ohio to beat previous records in the midst of a global pandemic.

A Strong Future for Ohio’s Workforce

For National Career Development Month, the Secretary of State’s Office spotlight focused on businesses with great examples of quality apprenticeship-based employment, shadowing programs for students, and internal career development efforts. Check it out at OhioSoS.gov/Spotlight

Entrepreneurship in Toledo

The Secretary stopped by the University of Toledo’s Launchpad Business Incubator where he toured the facility and talked with University officials about what Ohio can do to help entrepreneurs thrive, especially those in minority communities.

Safe at Home

Ohio’s Safe at Home program protects survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and trafficking by keeping their home address off of official state documents, such as voter registrations. Secretary LaRose offered testimony in the Ohio Senate in support of HB 429. The legislation would strengthen the Safe at Home program by improving both government collaboration and confidentiality.
