Spotlighting Ohio at NASS
Throughout the week, the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) hosted their annual conference virtually. In his role as co-chair of the NASS Elections Committee, Secretary LaRose led a discussion among Secretaries from around the nation on best practices, highlighting Ohio’s experience in running the most successful election in state history. Also, because of the strong record of success within the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office, many members of our team were asked to present to their peers around the country. Divisions who participated include: Business Services, Elections, Information Technology, and Cyber Security.
This week Secretary LaRose kicked off the first meeting of the year with the Ohio Secretary of State Diversity and Empowerment Council. The Secretary and the council members spent time discussing ways we can improve our elections systems and advance our legislative priorities.
Appreciating Ohio’s Black History
We cannot appreciate the fullness of American history without a substantive knowledge of black history. Our new video series premiered this week that features members of our Diversity & Empowerment Council as well as community leaders. We will continue releasing these videos throughout the month. These personal stories on voting rights and business creation offer perspective into where we have been and where we are going as a state and nation.
