Required Commission Updates
Non-attorney and attorney notaries public are required to update their commission with the Secretary of State’s office within 30 days if the following information changes:
Legal Name Change
Address Change
You may file an amendment online to update the name and/or address information.
All disciplinary and renewal notices are mailed to the address on record, so it is essential to have a current name and address on record.
Failure to make the required commission updates may result in disciplinary action against the notary public’s commission.
