Secretary LaRose Sends Over 150 Thousand Voter Information Packets to Graduating Seniors as Part of Grads Vote Initiative
(Columbus) – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose sent over 150,000 Grads Vote packets this week to graduating high school seniors to encourage civic engagement and recruit Election Day poll workers as part of the Youth at the Booth program.
“These students are stepping into one of the most important responsibilities in our democracy — the right to vote,” said Secretary LaRose. “Programs like this give young Ohioans a better understanding of the voting process and encourage them to take an active role in their communities.”
As part of this year’s initiative, the Ohio Secretary of State’s office partnered with America 250 Ohio to help encourage the continuation of the proud traditions of voting to the next generation.
“As we celebrate America 250 in Ohio, we also celebrate a new generation of civic-minded Ohioans,” said Todd Kleismit, Executive Director for America 250 Ohio. “We are happy to partner with the Secretary of State’s office to help prepare thousands of graduating Ohioans to engage in our democracy.”
