1. Partisan Candidates Conditionally Qualify For Primary Ballot
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced the list of partisan statewide candidates who met the minimum signature requirement to qualify for the May 5, 2026, Primary Election. Today was the deadline to file a protest against a partisan candidates’ petitions. See the full list of statewide candidates here.
2. Request an Absentee Ballot at VoteOhio.gov
Don't wait to request your absentee ballot application! Go to VoteOhio.gov or contact your local county board of elections if you have questions. Remember, whether you deliver your ballot by mail or by hand, it must be received by your board of elections by the time polls close on Election Day.
3. Filing Deadline For Write-in Candidates is February 23
Write-in candidates for the upcoming May 5th Primary must file their declarations of intent by 4 p.m., February 23. A full 2026 elections calendar can be found here.
