Early Voting Has Started! Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced the start of early voting for the 2026 primary election this week. “Secure and accessible elections begin with preparation, and Ohio’s bipartisan officials have done the work to make that a reality,” said Secretary LaRose. “I encourage every eligible voter to visit VoteOhio.gov and make their voting plan."

2. Voters can visit VoteOhio.gov to find early voting hours, locations, and deadlines.

Updates From Across Ohio
On Wednesday, the Ohio Elections Integrity Commission swore in Michael Crites as the new commission chairman. In case you missed it, you can watch the OEIC meeting here.
Deputy Director of Regional Services Kenny Henning presented Bucc-ee’s CEO, Arch “Beaver” Aplin, with a proclamation celebrating the company’s grand opening in Ohio. The Buc-ee’s location in Huber Heights is the first in the Buckeye State.
East Central Liaison Caleb Shriver presented a proclamation to Derrdra Shilliday and Andrea Farber, owners of On the Map Boutique. The store uses portions of their revenues to fund mission trips to Kenya.
The Jefferson County Board of Elections recently hosted a poll worker training. Eastern Regional Liaison Fiona Ruminski attended on behalf of the Ohio Secretary of State and distributed “I Voted” pins to participants taking part in the training.
Poll Worker training kicked off this week in Lorain County, with a session held at the Sheffield Township Fire Station. Northeast Regional Liaison Dustin Russell dropped by to speak with those in attendance.
Ohio Secretary of State Cyber Liaison Russ Forsythe shared cyber preparedness tips with Fayette County EMA and Sheriff’s office leadership. This is part of the board’s EMA plan and preparations. The discussion focused on strengthening local readiness, improving coordination, and helping protect critical systems from potential cyber threats.
