Keeping Voter Rolls Accurate: As part of our ongoing effort to maintain the integrity of the voter rolls, Secretary LaRose announced that his office has published a list of 208,856 inactive voter registrations scheduled for removal from Ohio’s voter rolls in January 2027 as part of the state’s legally required General Voter Records Maintenance Program. Updates From Across Ohio
Secretary LaRose spoke to more than 175 deputy registrars from across Ohio during the Ohio BMV’s annual conference in Columbus. He thanked them for their work on the front lines of voter registration and emphasized how accurate BMV data helps protect voters, maintain accurate voter rolls and strengthen confidence in Ohio’s elections.
Andrew Burchwell of the Ohio Blockchain Council welcomed Secretary LaRose for a fireside chat at the Midwest Bitcoin Summit in Columbus. The Secretary highlighted the office’s new cryptocurrency payment option for business filing fees and discussed how technology can give Ohio entrepreneurs more choices and make government services more convenient. West Central Regional Liaison Brian Metzbower presented a proclamation to Delaware County Agriculture Society President Christopher Welker on behalf of Secretary LaRose. The recognition honors the society’s dedication to local agriculture and its work to preserve the county’s agricultural heritage, connect generations and bring the community together.
East Central Ohio Regional Liaison Caleb Shriver presented a proclamation to Schmidt Total Protection founder Bill Schmidt and his son, company CEO Brian Schmidt, in honor of the company’s 50th anniversary. The milestone celebrates five decades in business and two generations of family leadership.
The Hocking County Board of Elections hosted an election readiness tabletop exercise with state and local partners. Participants included representatives from the Secretary of State’s Office, Logan Police Department, and Hocking County’s Sheriff’s Office, EMS, EMA, Prosecutor’s Office, and IT department.
