DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:
In 1938, Richard C. Rea started Rea & Associates after the Great Depression, when he realized there was a great need for accounting and financial services in his hometown of New Philadelphia. Since then, the firm has grown into a regional accounting firm. Rea offers a brighter way to its clients in the construction, government, dental, manufacturing, oil & gas and not-for-profit industries through innovative accounting, audit, tax and consulting services.
The firm has become one of the largest public accounting firms in the country, employing more than 200 professionals in 11 offices located in Cambridge, Mentor, Millersburg, Dublin, Coshocton, Lima, Marietta, Medina, New Philadelphia, Wooster and Zanesville. In 2013, Rea celebrated its 75th anniversary and was named to Accounting Today’s Top 100 Firms and Inside Public Accounting’s 100 Firms lists.
Community support is part of Rea’s DNA, and employees are committed to serving their respective communities. In 2013, the Rea Foundation donated nearly $60,000 to various community organizations throughout Ohio. Employees also donated over eight tons of food during the firm’s 10th annual “Help Can Hunger” food drive, and participated in the Ohio Society of CPAs FETCH! program. Locally, Rea professionals are active in various community organizations.
