Young's Jersey Dairy

What do you like about doing business in Ohio?

Our farm was founded in 1869 - we have a long history in Ohio. We enjoy working with our great staff and our fabulous customers who appreciate locally produced food and family fun visiting our farm. And we like the seasons in Ohio – cold winters make the ice cream taste even better in the summer!

Description of business:

Young's Jersey Dairy is a working dairy farm. We milk cows, make ice cream and cheese, operate two restaurants, two miniature golf courses, pick your own pumpkins, batting cages, driving range and have family fun events all year. The public is welcome to watch us milk our beautiful Jersey cows daily.

We make about 75,000 gallons of ice cream annually. We began making our own cheese in July 2009. In June 2011 we won two Gold Medals for our Apple Wood Smoked Cheddar and our Baby Swiss cheese in the North American Jersey Cheese Awards held in Wisconsin.

There are 14 members of the Young family that work in the business – at our summertime peak, we employ a total of 320. Young’s is the first job for many of our staff, and we enjoy the great job they do for our guests.

Young's has over 1 million guest visits a year to our farm. We work with many local organizations in our community - our biggest charity event each year is the Young's Ice Cream Charity Bike Tour that donated $72,000 in 2010 to four local charities.
