Fort Recovery Industries’ roots go back to 1895 when the Fort Recovery Stirrup Company was started in Fort Recovery, Ohio. In 1945, George Jetter purchased the Stirrup Company and changed the name to Fort Recovery Industries, Inc.

The first products manufactured by the company included bent wood stirrups and saddle trees. The saddle trees required an aluminum horn to be used in securing the rope when ranging cattle. The present metal casting operation began when the company started casting these horns.

In 1954, a casting plant was built on State Route 49 just north of the village of Fort Recovery, Ohio. After nearly 20 expansions the facility now houses many of their manufacturing processes and their corporate offices. In 1997, the Assembly/Packaging Plant and Distribution Center was constructed in the new industrial park of Fort Recovery. In 2011, the Portland Casting Plant was established to accommodate the company’s growing die casting operations.

Fort Recovery Industries, a privately held business, is a leading manufacturer of die cast components and assemblies, also providing secondary capabilities in finishing, machining, and plating.

The company and its associates actively support local charities and the educational workforce development programs.
