Lucky Penny Creamery

The Buckeye State is ideal for raising a family, nurturing livestock, and building a business. At Lucky Penny Farm and Lucky Penny Creamery in Portage County, we do it all with a sense of stewardship and respect. While customers appreciate our artisanal approach to crafting local cheeses, we’re honored to deliver fresh, wholesome food to tables throughout Ohio.

Lucky Penny Farm in Hiram Township is where art, agriculture, and family intersect. While it’s a century home and family farm in Ohio, it’s also a state of mind dedicated to food, family, and sustainability.

Lucky Penny Creamery in Kent is a natural outgrowth of the farm — a wholesome food production hub connecting rural and urban settings — transforming a raw agricultural product into a premier chef’s cheese, bringing the goodness of the farm to tables in the city.

Abbe Turner produces superior local dairy products by managing the entire process, from pasture to plate. Lucky Penny’s sustainable approach to local specialty food has earned the brand a solid following from reputable chefs, farmers’ markets, distributors and lucky customers throughout the Midwest.

Abbe was named a 2013 Farmer Hero by Farm Aid and Superstar Farmer by Local Food Cleveland. The creamery also recently earned the Green Business Award from Portage Parks Foundation and the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce’s IMMY Award.

Lucky Penny crafts cheeses according to artisanal traditions, in small batches, by hand, with integrity — for the freshest possible food product. Lucky Penny cheeses are served in local restaurants within 72 hours of milking time on the farm! That’s fresh.
