WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN OHIO?
Ohio is an amazing state, where residents value local farms and local foods. Our farm is in a metropolitan area, and we directly interact with our consumers. We have been fortunate to receive tremendous support from our community, which illustrates that Ohioans appreciate what farming adds to our great state.
DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:
At Harrison Farm, they focus on celebrations, animals, and teaching. Katherine, owner, is the fifth generation of her family to work this farm, and it is her great passion. They still raise livestock - but her great-grandparents would marvel that they welcome so many visitors to see the farm, that they host on-farm yoga and other events, and that the farm is now operated by one of their female descendants. They raise their animals with respect for their contributions and with appreciation for the circle of life. Their naturally raised meats and farm fresh eggs reflect the values with which they care for their livestock. They tan hides, sun bleach skulls for artists, and prepare natural dog treats. They offer internships for young people to gain animal handling skills and learn about their approach to sustainable farming. As part of their focus on education, they host many tours of the farm. Their yoga classes and other events bring people to the farm to experience agriculture. They also have restored the 1946 airplane hangar on the farm, which is available for meetings
