On Election Day, you must cast your ballot in your precinct at your designated polling place between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. If you do not know where your designated precinct or polling place is located, please contact your county board of elections or search for your polling place online.
Ohio law requires voters to present a valid, unexpired photo ID that includes their name and photograph. Examples of acceptable IDs include Ohio driver licenses, state of Ohio ID cards, U.S. passports, and military IDs.
Learn more about ID requirementsGenerally, Ohio residents who are U.S. citizens and will be at least 18 years old on or before the next general election are eligible to register and vote.
A provisional ballot is used when there’s uncertainty about a voter’s eligibility. The ballot looks the same as a regular one, but it’s set aside until election officials confirm that you’re eligible to vote and voted in the correct precinct. Once verified, your vote is counted in the official results.
