NASS Summer Conference: Secretary LaRose and several leaders from our office traveled to South Dakota for the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) 2026 Summer Conference. They participated in a panel discussion focused on leveraging relationships with businesses to help recruit the poll workers Ohio relies on to run secure and accessible elections.

Secretary LaRose shared best practices on poll worker recruitment to representatives from other states at the NASS Summer Conference. The Secretary touched on poll worker recruitment programs such as Give a Day For Democracy, Lawyers For Liberty, Second Call to Duty, Styling For Democracy and Youth at the Booth.
Secretary LaRose joined several secretaries of state from across the country for a panel presentation to share their favorite memories from past NASS Summer Conferences. He also offered advice to those in attendance and emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong command of the office’s core responsibilities and functions.
Deputy Secretary of State and Chief Operating Officer Kim Burns introduced NASS attendees to the Elections Virtual Assistant, or EVA, Ohio’s first AI-powered elections assistant. EVA provides clear, targeted guidance on the state’s complex voting rules and procedures for elections officials from Ohio's 88 counties.
Southern Regional Liaison Jordan Leatherwood joined Jackson county Job and Family Services and community leaders for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the launch of a new public transportation system that connects county residents with essential services and healthcare.
Deputy Director of Regional Services Kenny Henning delivered a proclamation to leaders of the Montgomery County Fair. The fair recently held its 174th edition.
West Central Regional Liason Brian Metzbower presented a proclamation to the Madison County Fair Board to help celebrate the opening of the annual county fair.

The Auglaize Board of Elections hosted the Northwest Regional Meeting of the Ohio Association of Election Officials at the Wapakoneta High School and Performance Arts Center. Those in attendance received crisis communications training, reviewed ballot procedures and spoke about how to improve the Ohio election system for this year.
Secretary of State Warns Voters About Inaccurate Registration Mailings
Ohio’s Secretary of State is warning people about misleading voter registration forms showing up in mailboxes. The unsolicited forms appear to have been sent from a county election office. Secretary of State Frank LaRose said that’s the problem.
