COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced 8,278 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in November, allowing Ohio to reach 121,550 new businesses in the first eleven months of 2019.

COLUMBUS –To appear on the ballot, candidates must have filed for the Presidential Primary in Ohio with the Ohio Secretary of State’s Elections Division no later than today, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

COLUMBUS –This week, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose highlighted a more efficient and accurate audit type, designed to ensure election accuracy. The Defiance County Board of Elections will be one of two pilot counties in Ohio to utilize the risk-limiting audit (RLA).

COLUMBUS – Today, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose referred 18 voters to prosecutors for allegedly voting twice in the 2018 General Election. Thanks to a partnership with several other states, a review was conducted that determined 10 Ohioans voted first in another state before casting their ballot a second time in Ohio. The other eight voted first in Ohio before voting again elsewhere.

COLUMBUS –Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has identified 77 individuals who cast a ballot in an Ohio election and 277 individuals who registered to vote in Ohio and who appear to be legally present, non-citizens. Today, these individuals were referred to the Ohio Attorney General for investigation and potential prosecution.

COLUMBUS – This shall serve as notice of a meeting to be held by the Ohio Board of Voting Machine Examiners on Thursday, December 5, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the large conference room located on the seventeenth floor of the Continental Plaza Building at 22 North Fourth Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215. The meeting of the board will begin at 10:00 a.m.

STATEMENT ATTRIBUTABLE TO OHIO SECRETARY OF STATE FRANK LAROSE:

COLUMBUS –Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced that at the close of early voting, 320,299 ballots had been cast statewide according to the latest data compiled from Ohio's Boards of Elections. This includes more than 194,034 absentee ballots cast by mail, 125,666 in person ballots and 599 military and overseas ballots. Boards of Elections are accepting military and overseas ballots for another 10 days.

COLUMBUS –Today Governor Mike DeWine signed SB 52 into law, sponsored by State Senator Theresa Gavarone (R- Bowling Green.) This landmark bill strengthens Ohio’s cyber-security posture and better prepares the state for the digital threats facing Boards of Elections, critical infrastructure, and all local government entities.

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced 9,989 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in September, allowing Ohio to reach 101,352 new businesses in the first nine months of 2019. Ohio has never created 100,000 new businesses before October.
