COLUMBUS – Today Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced the selected businesses for this month’s Ohio Business Spotlight. To celebrate, we’re shining a well-deserved light on several minority-owned businesses from across the state.

COLUMBUS –Virtually every Ohio county has met the requirements of the Security Directive Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose issued in June 2019. One county is considered non-compliant and requires corrective action and seven counties have been good-faith partners but have minor additional action required. All other counties are considered fully compliant.

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced voting for military and overseas voters begins tomorrow, Friday, January 31, 2020 for the upcoming Primary Election which will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. COLUMBUS – Today, Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced Sean M. McAfee as the new Chief Information Security Officer for the Ohio Secretary of State's office. Tomorrow, SB 52 goes into effect and a key aspect of that bill establishes a Chief Information Security Officer in the Secretary of State’s office. COLUMBUS – Today Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced the selected businesses for January’s Ohio Business Spotlight. This month, we are honoring the businesses that have stood strong for 100 years or more, highlighting Ohio’s long-term strength in our national economy.

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced 130,621 new businesses filed in Ohio in 2019, setting a new annual record. 9,071 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in December – the best December on record – and helped drive Ohio over the 130,000 new businesses threshold for the first time ever.

COLUMBUS –Over the past year, Colorado, Ohio, and West Virginia have been leaders in information sharing and cooperation on election security issues. The following is a joint statement from Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, and West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner in response to news today that the FBI will immediately begin to share information about cyber-intrusions/attacks with state election officials:

COLUMBUS –In response to heightened tensions related to Iran, Secretary of State Frank LaRose has issued a special notice to Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections with instructions for managing potential threats.

COLUMBUS –Today, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced the certification of candidates for the 2020 Ohio Presidential Primary.

COLUMBUS –Today, Secretary of State Frank LaRose welcomed new Americans at a Naturalization Ceremony in Cleveland where 79 people became citizens. Following the event, the Secretary joined the Cuyahoga Board of Elections and League of Women Voters to sign up many of the newly sworn-in citizens as registered voters.

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced 8,278 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in November, allowing Ohio to reach 121,550 new businesses in the first eleven months of 2019.

COLUMBUS –To appear on the ballot, candidates must have filed for the Presidential Primary in Ohio with the Ohio Secretary of State’s Elections Division no later than today, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

COLUMBUS –This week, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose highlighted a more efficient and accurate audit type, designed to ensure election accuracy. The Defiance County Board of Elections will be one of two pilot counties in Ohio to utilize the risk-limiting audit (RLA).

COLUMBUS – Today Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced the selected businesses for December’s Ohio Business Spotlight. This month, we are honoring the birthplace of aviation by recognizing some of the companies that have strengthened Ohio’s proud aviation tradition.

COLUMBUS – Today, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose referred 18 voters to prosecutors for allegedly voting twice in the 2018 General Election. Thanks to a partnership with several other states, a review was conducted that determined 10 Ohioans voted first in another state before casting their ballot a second time in Ohio. The other eight voted first in Ohio before voting again elsewhere.

COLUMBUS –Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has identified 77 individuals who cast a ballot in an Ohio election and 277 individuals who registered to vote in Ohio and who appear to be legally present, non-citizens. Today, these individuals were referred to the Ohio Attorney General for investigation and potential prosecution.

COLUMBUS – This shall serve as notice of a meeting to be held by the Ohio Board of Voting Machine Examiners on Thursday, December 5, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the large conference room located on the seventeenth floor of the Continental Plaza Building at 22 North Fourth Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215. The meeting of the board will begin at 10:00 a.m.
