COLUMBUS –Today Secretary LaRose released the new Fresh Start list. The list of cancelled registrations as required by state and federal law will be shared with organizations that were part of the Registration Reset initiative as well as posted online – all in an effort to allow interested Ohioans a fresh opportunity to register to vote prior to the October 7 deadline.

COLUMBUS- Last week it was announced that a former consultant of Congressman Steve Chabot’s congressional campaign was being investigated for allegedly embezzling more than $120,000 from Rep. Chabot’s campaign account. Initial reports indicate the individual listed his own father as the campaign treasurer, doing so without his permission, in order to maintain autonomous and secret control over campaign funds without any accountability.  The embezzlement of funds is a clear abuse of the campaign finance system.

COLUMBUS- Today Secretary Frank LaRose issued Directive 2019-22(opens in a new window), instructing county boards of elections on how to move forward with the voter list maintenance process pursuant to state and federal law, while providing certain exceptions and safeguards to ensure that no registrant is improperly denied the opportunity to vote.

Today a settlement was announced in the A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) v. LaRose case regarding the inactive voter confirmation notices sent prior to 2016 as part of the Supplemental process of general voter list maintenance.

COLUMBUS –Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose released the following statement today after State Senators Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) and Nathan Manning (R- North Ridgeville) introduced the Voter Verification and Registration bill -- new legislation to modernize Ohio's voter registration process.

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced 11,172 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in July -- an increase of 1,520 when compared to the same month in 2018. So far in 2019, Ohio is ahead of last year’s record-breaking pace by 4,421 new business entities.

COLUMBUS –Beginning August 26th, 168,395 Ohioans who have been identified as unregistered but eligible to vote will receive a postcard in the mail instructing them how to register to vote.

COLUMBUS - The Secretary of State’s office discovered a discrepancy between the Registration Reset lists submitted to our office by Franklin, Henry, Huron, and Mercer counties and the lists used by those counties to send Last Chance notices to affected registrations.

COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced 9,935 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in June. With nearly 70,000 new business entities created in the first six months, Ohio is almost 3,000 filings ahead of last year’s record-setting pace.
