Verify Ohio Weekly Update:
Question:
How is the order of candidates that appear on my ballot determined?
Let's Verify:
Ohio law requires candidate names to rotate from one precinct to the next. The first precinct lists candidates for each race alphabetically by last name, then the next precinct moves the first name to the bottom and shifts the others up one place. That rotation can put a third-party candidate first on ballots in some precincts. For more information, check out the Ohio Election Official Manual Section.
